Director of Internal Communications

JoEllen Saeli-Lane is Director of Internal Communications at CARE USA, a leading international humanitarian organization whose poverty fighting programs reached 77 million people last year in 90 countries. JoEllen manages employee communications for CARE’s 6,500 staff in over 90 countries, creating and implementing innovative communication strategies that advance organizational priorities, foster communication in multiple directions and enable CARE staff to actively contribute to the organization’s success. A renowned expert in her field, JoEllen has spoken across the United States with the International Association of Business Communicators, Public Relations Society of GA and the Advanced Learning Institute about building successful communication strategies and intranets in large and globally diverse organizations. Under her leadership innovative solutions like CARE’s new intranet have recognized as one of “Atlanta’s Best New Intranets” and won the 2015 Technology Association of Georgia Social Savvy Award.  

Prior to her current role JoEllen held a variety of positions within the Executive, Policy and Advocacy, Corporate Alliances and Program teams at CARE.  Before joining CARE, she worked for the American University in Cairo based in Egypt where she played a key role in strategic planning and the development of joint programs with the Egyptian government, NGOs and USAID. 

JoEllen is a member of the National Association of Professional Women and the International Association of Business Communicators. JoEllen was born and raised in upstate NY and earned a B.A. in politics at Saint Anselm College. She lives in Atlanta, GA with her husband, daughter Nydea (5yrs) and sweet baby boy Antonio (8 mo).
